The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes OROTINENSE got a freekick which was hit by Jacek Walczak. Jacek Walczak was slow to take the kick. During this time OROTINENSE's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Jacek Walczak got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dênis de Castro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dênis de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordache Opincaru in the 21st minute of the match. Three Lions FC's Dênis de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iordache Opincaru in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juraj Múdry in the 25th minute of play forced Three Lions FC's goalkeeper Dênis de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Cafu de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Three Lions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu de Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liu Yong Yong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. George Kimmich kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, one of OROTINENSE:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for OROTINENSE. 45 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Cerezo came free, but Liu Yong Yong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 58th minute Songurhan Mete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Iordache Opincaru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dênis de Castro. Three Lions FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iordache Opincaru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save OROTINENSE from getting a goal against them. For all the effort they put into the match, the Three Lions FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for OROTINENSE.
