After a defensive mix-up in DJVAGALUMY FC.'s zone, Cornel Ulici stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Amorim came out of the goal and Cornel Ulici tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SK Mons's Nick Daniels got a free kick in the 21st minute. The supporters of DJVAGALUMY FC. booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peng Xu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Cornel Ulici's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robinho Amorim was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Ruben Smidts took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robinho Amorim. Robinho Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half SK Mons were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thiago Vidal to make the kick off.
