Norberto Alvarenga was a little too slow when Valentine Yepes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 18th minute John Cadenas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Falcão Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Marcel Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Cambotinha EC booed when Atlético Arenillas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Cabada didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Nicolas Alvarenga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asencio Ecija was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. 96 minutes into the game, Cambotinha EC's Falcão Novaes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Asencio Ecija made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. When the match was over Cambotinha EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Arenillas throughout the match.
