But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phil Ivey couldn't finish the play. 16 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goalkeeper Bertil Bollström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Almir Loureiro. Bertil Bollström was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Nelsinho Dantas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nelsinho Dantas really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Phil Ivey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Matorin having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Gert Sefastsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gert Sefastsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Douglas Västberg was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Bertil Bollström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Mineiro in the 44th minute of play. Bertil Bollström made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Nelsinho Dantas sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gert Sefastsson to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Phil Ivey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute Nelsinho Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertil Bollström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Nils-Erik Brun managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Umberto Negri in the 85 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Börge Palmkvist got a free kick in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goal looked a bit too open when Almir Loureiro came free, but Bertil Bollström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexilhão F. C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
