After some careless play in the Florida Gulf Coast defense, Diamantino de Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucio Geofredo. The Florida Gulf Coast fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucio Geofredo should have stopped the shot. Lucio Geofredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willian Neves in the 19th minute of play. Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willian Neves in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Gugu Travassos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Lucio Geofredo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sydney Barros made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Constantino Seguinus sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gugu Travassos was the one to do the kick off. In the 71st minute Nestor Inko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gugu Travassos in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucio Geofredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucio Geofredo made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Gugu Travassos sent off a good shot on target.
