A collision led to Inter Gala getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Amílton Favoretto hit a great ball. Primitivo Jeraldo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dráusio Batista went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After the first half Inter Gala were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florencio Fix to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldinho Baptista got free with Primitivo Jeraldo in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Palermo AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Teo Barrionuevo hit a great ball. Primitivo Jeraldo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Dracena in the 72nd minute. Primitivo Jeraldo came out of the goal and Magno Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Florencio Fix's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Naldo Félix was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. 85 minutes into the game, Florencio Fix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palermo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter Gala the free kick.
