Emílio Veiga came out of the goal and Romarinho Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Severino Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severino Falcão got free with Cido Valle in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Emílio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique dos Santos in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Percy Meirelles threw the ball into play from the sideline. Atlético de Crisal's Gualter Amaral quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Emílio Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Miranda in the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th match minute, Atlético de Crisal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. After 39 minutes of play, Atlético de Crisal's Henrique dos Santos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emílio Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Severino Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severino Falcão made a kick off. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Falcão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cido Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Falcão in the 66th minute of play. Atlético de Crisal's Cido Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Falcão in the 69th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Severino Falcão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Cido Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Falcão's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 78 minutes into the match, Atlético de Crisal's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Falcão came free, but Cido Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kaká Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Veiga having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorival Brodel during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kaká Ferreira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique dos Santos in the 97th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Emílio Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atlético de Crisal's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Nova Iguaçu MZFC had won, even though Atlético de Crisal had held more of the ball.
