A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Emílio Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká Ferreira. Emílio Veiga was a little too slow when Breno Pinho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-1. Emílio Veiga made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Breno Pinho sent off a good shot on target. After 23 played minutes Atlético de Crisal got a freekick which was hit by Jailson Palmeira. Cido Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Falcão in the 24th minute of the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Emílio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romarinho Silva in the 34th minute of play. Breno Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breno Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 36 minutes into the match, Atlético de Crisal's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Falcão came free, but Cido Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cido Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Falcão in the 50th minute of play. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Dalmo Hoffmann hit a great ball. If Severino Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Reynaldo Dionísio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cido Valle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute of the match Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a corner. Atlético de Crisal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The audience was convinced that Severino Falcão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cido Valle was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Cido Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Falcão, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Pinho in the 86th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Emílio Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reynaldo Dionísio got free with Cido Valle in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute, Dorival Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
