Lisa Simpson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Pontus Lundin made a huge save. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos da Bahia Fc's goalkeeper Jacinto Aparecido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Harry Forsberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerry Bock took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacinto Aparecido. Jacinto Aparecido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Pontus Lundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pontus Lundin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Pena in the 31st minute of play. Pontus Lundin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lisa Simpson in the 32nd minute. Lisa Simpson scored 2-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pontus Lundin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute Valdemar Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pontus Lundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After 89 played minutes, Santos da Bahia Fc's Valdemar Pena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pontus Lundin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santos da Bahia Fc reached it. The Santos da Bahia Fc players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
