Spectators: 7583 (Terracing: 5688, Seating: 1744, VIP seats: 151) Bernardino Blai made the kick off and thus started the match. After a defensive mix-up in Brujas KV's zone, Emilio Lain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Marie Pfaff came out of the goal and Emilio Lain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 4th minute, Faustino Gurutz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Remo Moreno got free with Jean-Marie Pfaff in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 7 minutes Brujas KV's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emilio Lain who took care of the corner kick. Braga Junior FC's Emilio Lain was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jean-Marie Pfaff in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Silvinho Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardino Blai in the 10th minute of the match. Braga Junior FC's Remo Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Marie Pfaff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Lain, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. A throw-in in the 26th minute of the game was made by Honorato Ederono with Hans Vanacker as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Remo Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Brujas KV from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Brujas KV getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Hans Vanacker hit a great ball. In the 35th minute of the game Adrian Naelio made a throw-in which Hans Vanacker played forward. Remo Moreno might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jean-Marie Pfaff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remo Moreno ran back to his position shaking his head. Jean-Marie Pfaff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remo Moreno in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Braga Junior FC's Emilio Lain sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean-Marie Pfaff narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

56 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Lain came free, but Jean-Marie Pfaff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Emilio Lain ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean-Marie Pfaff was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A throw-in in the 60th minute of the game was made by Honorato Ederono with Hans Vanacker as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Lain in the 61st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remo Moreno in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean-Marie Pfaff saved Brujas KV from getting behind. Remo Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th match minute, Brujas KV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Vanacker to maneuver through the defense. In the 76thth minute of the game Remo Moreno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Lain in the 80th minute of play. Jean-Marie Pfaff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Moreno in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th match minute, Braga Junior FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Botelho to maneuver through the defense.
