The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Drunken Sea Monkeys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Üllar Kalle didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Drunken Sea Monkeys's goal looked a bit too open when Ray Schikaneder came free, but Kevin Kivaste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Hartwig Engelhardt made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Kivaste. Drunken Sea Monkeys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ray Schikaneder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Kevin Kivaste tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Drunken Sea Monkeys's goal looked a bit too open when Hartwig Engelhardt came free, but Kevin Kivaste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ken Tänav hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Hartwig Engelhardt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kevin Kivaste having to make a save. After 24 minutes of play, KFC Uerdingen 05's Hartwig Engelhardt made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kevin Kivaste was left in no man's land by his defense there! KFC Uerdingen 05's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ray Schikaneder in the 33rd minute. The corner ended in Ray Schikaneder almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Drunken Sea Monkeys's Kevin Kivaste did a great save. 35 minutes into the match, Hartwig Engelhardt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kevin Kivaste. Drunken Sea Monkeys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hartwig Engelhardt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. KFC Uerdingen 05's John Terry suffered a sore thigh after 37 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Kusti Liiva charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kusti Liiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. KFC Uerdingen 05 made a substitution. Fred Yentür replaced John Terry. In the 38th match minute, Drunken Sea Monkeys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kusti Liiva to maneuver through the defense. After 40 played minutes Drunken Sea Monkeys got a freekick which was hit by Adolf Mustasaar. Hartwig Engelhardt struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Kevin Kivaste didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. The KFC Uerdingen 05 fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when KFC Uerdingen 05's Hartwig Engelhardt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hartwig Engelhardt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Kevin Kivaste made a huge save. Hartwig Engelhardt scored 0-7 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kevin Kivaste, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 59 minutes, Lennart Saare mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drunken Sea Monkeys and the KFC Uerdingen 05 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The attack was good, but when Hartwig Engelhardt in the 62nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Hartwig Engelhardt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Hartwig Engelhardt sped through Drunken Sea Monkeys's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kevin Kivaste. Kevin Kivaste showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Hartwig Engelhardt came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the KFC Uerdingen 05 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hartwig Engelhardt couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Hartwig Engelhardt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kevin Kivaste was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-11. Kevin Kivaste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edin Džeko in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, KFC Uerdingen 05's Hartwig Engelhardt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kevin Kivaste made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-12. A collision led to KFC Uerdingen 05 getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Edin Džeko hit a great ball.
