Spectators: 7504 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dudu Borges kicked off to start the match. Folke Österlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Oscar Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After 9 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Aílton Domingues. The Catugi FC fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Catugi FC's Dudu Borges looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Baptista in the 17th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Abraão. Alberto Valverde kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Red Proud FC's zone, Dudu Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pascoal Modesto came out of the goal and Dudu Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, Luiz Fernando Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pascoal Modesto. Red Proud FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fernando Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Luiz Fernando Abraão got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 38 minutes, Oscar Bastos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catugi FC and the Red Proud FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oscar Bastos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute, Filipe Macena had to leave the field with a concussion. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Fernando Abraão during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Red Proud FC made a substitution. Aloísio Brito replaced Filipe Macena. After 44 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Abraão. Cassiano Esteves came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Folke Österlund could save by the left post. After the first half Catugi FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Egídio Baptista made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Egídio Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folke Österlund was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. If Alberto Valverde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Palmiro Manso in the 55th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Dudu Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Red Proud FC the free kick. The supporters of Red Proud FC booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cassiano Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 64th minute, Alberto Valverde got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute Dudu Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascoal Modesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cassiano Esteves came free, but Folke Österlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Folke Österlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Palmiro Manso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Borges. Catugi FC's Oscar Bastos got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute Alberto Valverde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Österlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Travassos. In the 83rd match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Bastos to maneuver through the defense. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Baptista in the 84th minute of play. Palmiro Manso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folke Österlund having to make a save. The Catugi FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
