In the 5th minute, Wilson Azteca made a precise shot to the right of Arlindo Meireles. Xurupita FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Arlindo Meireles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santa Luis went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Arlindo Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santa Luis in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santa Luis in the 15th minute of play forced Xurupita FC's goalkeeper Arlindo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Old Boys fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! If Santa Luis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Feliciano Leoiar during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Feliciano Leoiar hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Teodoro Valle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Vinicio Bidari made a huge save. Arlindo Meireles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santa Luis went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. If Santa Luis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half The Old Boys were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Xurupita FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Santa Luis scored to the left of an out of position Arlindo Meireles, making the score, 1-5. Santa Luis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Arlindo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes of play, Xurupita FC's Abel Proença made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinicio Bidari was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardinho de Azevedo hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Santa Luis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santa Luis struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Arlindo Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Old Boys. Arlindo Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santa Luis in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santa Luis in the 81st minute of play forced Xurupita FC's goalkeeper Arlindo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Lizar struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Arlindo Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Old Boys. Arlindo Meireles was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Santa Luis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Santa Luis really showed his touch with that goal: 2-6. Santa Luis's late challenge caught a Xurupita FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santa Luis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, The Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santa Luis to maneuver through the defense. Arlindo Meireles made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Santa Luis sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded The Old Boys left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Xurupita FC.
