In the 4th minute, Galsino Bradi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th match minute, The Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliciano Leoiar to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute of the match Galsino Bradi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gudesteo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Galsino Bradi fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Pinar's protests and gave Galsino Bradi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to The Old Boys getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Lupe Castañeda hit a great ball. Aztore Sarantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquilino Lauren, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Aztore Sarantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santa Luis in the 25th minute of play. El Pinar's Aztore Sarantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santa Luis in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santa Luis in the 32nd minute of play forced El Pinar's goalkeeper Aztore Sarantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jacobo Gomesano managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Old Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacobo Gomesano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aztore Sarantes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute Santa Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aztore Sarantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Lizar in the 39th minute of play forced El Pinar's goalkeeper Aztore Sarantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 40th minute of the match Galsino Bradi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Galsino Bradi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of The Old Boys booed when El Pinar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Galsino Bradi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Jairo Lizar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aztore Sarantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jairo Lizar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Santa Luis made a precise shot to the right of Aztore Sarantes. El Pinar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santa Luis made a kick off. Aztore Sarantes came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by The Old Boys's Jairo Lizar. But to his dismay, Jairo Lizar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Jairo Lizar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aztore Sarantes having to interfere. Aztore Sarantes was a little too slow when Aquilino Lauren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-3. Jairo Lizar scored 0-4 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aztore Sarantes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jairo Lizar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Feliciano Leoiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Lazaeta in the 75th minute of play. Aztore Sarantes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 77th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wilson Azteca. 80 minutes into the match, El Pinar's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Lizar came free, but Aztore Sarantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquilino Lauren in the 83rd minute of play forced El Pinar's goalkeeper Aztore Sarantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aztore Sarantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santa Luis, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 86th match minute, El Pinar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lixandro Rossell to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the The Old Boys defense, Elizardo Arzube kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gudesteo. The The Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gudesteo should have stopped the shot. Santa Luis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aztore Sarantes having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, Jairo Lizar lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Aztore Sarantes. The Old Boys played a much better game than El Pinar and deserved their victory. The El Pinar players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
