Şemsettin Tanaltay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sermet Yalgın in the 39th minute of play. Sonny Alén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şanver Enfa, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Sermet Yalgın left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bornova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After 46 played minutes Bornova got a freekick which was hit by Sermet Yalgın. The Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bornova were winning 1-2.

Şemsettin Tanaltay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Şemsettin Tanaltay made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Şeref Onatkan sent off a good shot on target. 91 minutes into the match, Kᴇᴛᴇɴçᴀʏɪʀ's goal looked a bit too open when Artun Kaçan came free, but Şemsettin Tanaltay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Şanver Enfa came free, but Sonny Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
