When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Nereo Tohias sped through Santo Amaro AC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hudson Arósio. Club Atletico Los Andes's Damian Ramone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Hermes in the 80th minute of play. Santo Amaro AC were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Club Atletico Los Andes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Duarte Maia took the corner. The corner ended in Dorian de Lara almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atletico Los Andes's Damian Ramone did a great save. 84 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Los Andes's goal looked a bit too open when Eduard Polozov came free, but Damian Ramone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduard Polozov got free with Damian Ramone in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Damian Ramone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduard Polozov in the 88th minute of play. Eduard Polozov hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Atletico Los Andes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Santo Amaro AC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
