Spectators: 7504 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lorenzo Aimar took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute of the match Creekers got a corner. Club Universidad Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fred Renteria ran over to the corner to take the kick. Creekers's Fred Renteria was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Romeo Pedroso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Luken in the 7th minute of play forced Creekers's goalkeeper Tommie Kirkpatrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Creekers defense, Fabio Artal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommie Kirkpatrick. The Creekers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommie Kirkpatrick should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute, Lorenzo Aimar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Universidad Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Fabio Artal scored 0-3 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommie Kirkpatrick, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabio Artal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 21 minutes of play, Club Universidad Nacional's Lorenzo Aimar made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommie Kirkpatrick was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romeo Pedroso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Trotter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Universidad Nacional's Romeo Pedroso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Trotter in the 24th minute of play. Creekers were furious when Oscar Lassiter was red carded, 29 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Creekers:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Universidad Nacional:s goal. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Club Universidad Nacional. Fernando Belarmo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tommie Kirkpatrick. 0-5. Tommie Kirkpatrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Lorenzo Aimar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommie Kirkpatrick. Creekers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lorenzo Aimar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 42 minutes into the game, Club Universidad Nacional's Fabio Artal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommie Kirkpatrick made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rudy Trotter to make the kick off. Lorenzo Aimar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommie Kirkpatrick having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Creekers's goalkeeper Tommie Kirkpatrick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lorenzo Aimar. After a defensive mix-up in Creekers's zone, Ovidio Luken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommie Kirkpatrick came out of the goal and Ovidio Luken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommie Kirkpatrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommie Kirkpatrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Artal, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute, Fabio Artal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Universidad Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Rudy Trotter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Club Universidad Nacional defense, Alfredo Baez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeo Pedroso. The Club Universidad Nacional fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeo Pedroso should have stopped the shot. Lorenzo Aimar might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommie Kirkpatrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Aimar ran back to his position shaking his head. After 84 played minutes Fabio Artal rounded Creekers's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-10. When Alfred Crowder fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Creekers's protests and gave Alfred Crowder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th minute, Alfred Crowder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Gualterio Pio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Universidad Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualterio Pio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommie Kirkpatrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tommie Kirkpatrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualterio Pio in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th match minute, Club Universidad Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Aimar to maneuver through the defense. The Creekers fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Universidad Nacional were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
