The Estudiantes de América fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Nuñez should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Estudiantes de América booed when 25 de Noviembre FBC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, 25 de Noviembre FBC's goalkeeper Baltasar Coya had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Bautista. Adam Bareiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Diogo Lopes sped through Estudiantes de América's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Flavio Nuñez. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustavo Bautista during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Gustavo Bautista hit a great ball. Flavio Nuñez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diogo Lopes was the one to do the kick off. In the 72nd match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Erasto to maneuver through the defense. Diogo Lopes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Flavio Nuñez made a huge save. Octavio Bitxintxo charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Octavio Bitxintxo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavio Bitxintxo to maneuver through the defense. Diogo Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 86 minutes into the game, Adam Bareiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Flavio Nuñez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 90th minute, Adam Bareiro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a little luck, Estudiantes de América's Flavio Nuñez got control of the ball when Diogo Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diogo Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Nuñez was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roque Henrico during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Roque Henrico hit a great ball. 25 de Noviembre FBC played a much better game than Estudiantes de América and deserved their victory. The Estudiantes de América players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
