Staffan Lind took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Pedro Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Staffan Lind showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Cardozo in the 7th minute of the match. Staffan Lind made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri de Queirós in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Linköpings AIK's Arvid Carlsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paulo Rosa. Paulo Rosa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 14 minutes of play, Guararapes's José Pedro Cardozo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Staffan Lind was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Linköpings AIK's Greger Lenberg got a free kick in the 17th minute. Staffan Lind showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Paulo Rosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arvid Carlsson in the 21st minute. Francisco Rencio took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Staffan Lind. Staffan Lind dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Amauri de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the game, Guararapes's José Pedro Cardozo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Staffan Lind made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 33 minutes into the game, Basílio Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guararapes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Linköpings AIK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Guararapes's Basílio Galvão got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When Guararapes's José Pedro Cardozo in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Linköpings AIK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 37th minute of the match, Allan Karlsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paulo Rosa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 38th minute Basílio Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Staffan Lind saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johannes Torstensson kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Greger Lenberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Rosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Greger Lenberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Johannes Torstensson hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arvid Carlsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Arvid Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Rosa having to interfere. The nice shot from José Pedro Cardozo in the 68thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Staffan Lind had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After a rather tough play, Linköpings AIK's Zebastian Wennerqvist got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 72nd match minute, Linköpings AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zebastian Wennerqvist to maneuver through the defense. Staffan Lind made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabirel Barbosa in the 73rd minute. If Francisco Rencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Allan Karlsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 83 minutes, Francisco Rencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guararapes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Rencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 played minutes Linköpings AIK got a freekick which was hit by Carl Karlsson. Staffan Lind made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabirel Barbosa in the 85th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Pedro Cardozo got free with Staffan Lind in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Linköpings AIK's Allan Karlsson got a free kick in the 89th minute. Staffan Lind made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco Machado in the 90th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Pedro Cardozo in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Staffan Lind prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Machado in the 96th minute of play forced Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Staffan Lind to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Guararapes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guararapes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
