When Alex Cadrecha came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the No Me Inscriban Gracias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Cadrecha couldn't finish the play. Alex Cadrecha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Walter Huarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zarando Eguizabal kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex Cadrecha in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Huarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ulizes Sola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute Ulizes Sola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rixon Espinoza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zarando Eguizabal kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Walter Huarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Cadrecha, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex Cadrecha in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Huarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Cadrecha in the 42nd minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Walter Huarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walter Huarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Cadrecha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Astillero del Guayas's Jiang Hui Guang managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by López Arruda in the 60 minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Ulizes Sola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rixon Espinoza was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Astillero del Guayas:s Walter Huarte showed great skill when he stopped López Arruda:s penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Cadrecha in the 78th managed to get into a good position.
