In the 2nd match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Xacintu to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Neagoe to maneuver through the defense. Independiente's Feliciano Jaunti got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Feliciano Jaunti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgil Olariu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Sazon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Enciulescu to maneuver through the defense. Virgil Olariu came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Zeledon Sazon. But to his dismay, Zeledon Sazon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Independiente booed when Paralia Athens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Chirculescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Feliciano Jaunti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliciano Jaunti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Olariu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25 minutes, Zeledon Sazon made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Paralia Athens's Virgil Olariu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute Leo Victoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Olariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute Tomás Cordaryal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Olariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgil Olariu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeledon Sazon went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Virgil Olariu came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Zeledon Sazon. But to his dismay, Zeledon Sazon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Nemesio Carlomagno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Virgil Olariu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgil Olariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Sazon in the 42nd minute of play. Virgil Olariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Sazon, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The Paralia Athens players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Independiente were winning 0-5.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zeledon Sazon to strike the kick off in the second half. Nemesio Carlomagno made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Feliciano Jaunti immediately put the ball in play. Virgil Olariu stood somewhat misplaced when Leo Victoro came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 56 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zeledon Sazon in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgil Olariu saved Paralia Athens from getting behind. In the 61st minute, Independiente's Zeledon Sazon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Virgil Olariu. Virgil Olariu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Virgil Olariu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliciano Jaunti in the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Aldo Iruinea got a free kick in the 68th minute. Virgil Olariu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Sazon in the 70th minute. In the 74th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Chirculescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Feliciano Jaunti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Olariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgil Olariu was a little too slow when Feliciano Jaunti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 0-9. Unai Herrera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pastor Bartoli having to make a save. Virgil Olariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliciano Jaunti in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Zeledon Sazon made a precise shot to the right of Virgil Olariu. Paralia Athens's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-10. 94 minutes into the game, Leo Victoro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Virgil Olariu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Virgil Olariu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Leo Victoro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 96 minute of play. When the match was over Independiente could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Paralia Athens throughout the match.
