The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florencio Rioja during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th match minute, SuperChango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Rioja to maneuver through the defense. SuperChango's German Indar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Iruinea in the 9th minute of play. German Indar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Estavan in the 15th minute of the match. Leo Victoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Indar having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Estavan. 18 minutes into the game, Eduardo Luix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SuperChango's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independiente the free kick. German Indar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliciano Jaunti, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Jacinto Estavan kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. German Indar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Sazon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, SuperChango's Ubaldo Maju seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ubaldo Maju the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SuperChango protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ubaldo Maju had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Jacinto Estavan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Venancio Mikelar fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SuperChango's protests and gave Venancio Mikelar a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Independiente booed when SuperChango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venancio Mikelar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Independiente's Zeledon Sazon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. German Indar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After the first half Independiente were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliciano Jaunti made a kick off. German Indar made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Zeledon Sazon sent off a good shot on target. In the 53rd match minute, SuperChango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Clementi to maneuver through the defense. German Indar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Sazon in the 54th minute. 58 minutes into the match, SuperChango's goal looked a bit too open when Feliciano Jaunti came free, but German Indar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Zeledon Sazon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SuperChango the free kick. Zeledon Sazon hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Nemesio Carlomagno made in the 67th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Leo Victoro immediately put the ball in play. In the 74th minute, Maximiliano Aureo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. German Indar made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Zeledon Sazon sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Independiente booed when SuperChango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Aureo didn't get a good kick on the ball. SuperChango's German Indar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Victoro in the 79th minute of play. German Indar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeledon Sazon went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Estavan got free with German Indar in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. German Indar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Sazon in the 91st minute. Froilan Clementi kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Independiente's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
