Doni Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 13th minute, Manfredo Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hilario Ubendu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 16th minute, Raúl Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Arixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doni Meirelles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Arixo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Doni Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Arixo in the 21st minute of play. Bernardo Mingo struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Doni Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y tiro. In the 28th minute Miguel Arixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute Gimnasia y tiro were awarded a corner. Segundo Berart went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Gimnasia y tiro's corner Segundo Berart fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Doni Meirelles quite easily take care of the ball. Gimnasia y tiro's Gavino Odilon got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 32 minutes, Fred Coutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ and the Gimnasia y tiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Fred Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Arixo scored 1-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doni Meirelles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute, Gavino Odilon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gimnasia y tiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Arixo made a kick off. After 50 minutes, Luís Guilherme Correia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ and the Gimnasia y tiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 50th minute, Luís Guilherme Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Manfredo Reis hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Arixo in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doni Meirelles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Raúl Arósio got a free kick in the 55th minute. Doni Meirelles made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Gavino Odilon sent off a good shot on target. Miguel Arixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doni Meirelles was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Gavino Odilon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gavino Odilon really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s goalkeeper Doni Meirelles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Arixo in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doni Meirelles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 73 minutes, Vítor Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ and the Gimnasia y tiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Vítor Teles got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Doni Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Bazil in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Dario Bazil fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Luís Guilherme Correia came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Guilherme Correia couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the game, Eduardo Lehior was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia y tiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ the free kick. A collision led to Gimnasia y tiro getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Eduardo Lehior hit a great ball. Gavino Odilon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Doni Meirelles made a huge save. Doni Meirelles came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Gimnasia y tiro's Bernardo Mingo. But to his dismay, Bernardo Mingo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. If Bernardo Mingo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Mingo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Meirelles having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gimnasia y tiro walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
