The audience thought a goal was coming when Gjermund Viste got free with Zuri Megia in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-3. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gjermund Viste stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zuri Megia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mats Lillegård in the 51st minute of the match. Zuri Megia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Farstad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zuri Megia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Lillegård, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gjermund Viste in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zuri Megia saved NEWELL´S OLD BOYS from getting behind. 57 minutes in the game Daniel Skulstad did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Daniel Farstad. 58 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Gjermund Viste came free, but Zuri Megia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience held their breath when Daniel Skulstad in the 69th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Zuri Megia's left hand side. 80 minutes into the game, Legia Stavanger's Gjermund Viste nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zuri Megia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-3. Zuri Megia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mats Lillegård in the 84th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Legia Stavanger's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Toli came free, but Slavcho Kanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Gjermund Viste had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zuri Megia. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gjermund Viste was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-3. In the 92nd minute Gjermund Viste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuri Megia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Mats Lillegård came free, but Zuri Megia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Daniel Farstad made a precise shot to the right of Zuri Megia. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-3. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Legia Stavanger fully deserved thier win.
