Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chico de Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Didi Prado in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zuri Megia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Batista during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th match minute, PEÇONHENTO FC MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Batista to maneuver through the defense. In the 15thth minute of the game Didi Prado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Zuri Megia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zuri Megia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Didi Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Zuri Megia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Prado in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute Chico de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuri Megia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zuri Megia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico de Azevedo in the 26th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Didi Prado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Zuri Megia. Zuri Megia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chico de Azevedo was slow to take the kick. During this time PEÇONHENTO FC MG's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Rafael Fernandez to score against Zuri Megia in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal. 0-3 after 55 minutes. 59 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Vargas came free, but Zuri Megia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Didi Prado notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Zuri Megia. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. PEÇONHENTO FC MG were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
