After 22 played minutes FLA MQ BRASIL got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Leme. 29 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Freire dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zuri Megia, 3-0. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Zuri Megia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Freire in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute FLA MQ BRASIL were awarded a corner. Dito Fantini went to the cornerflag to take it. FLA MQ BRASIL's Dito Fantini was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zuri Megia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Reynaldo Sabin got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

The throw-in from Samuel Perez in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Reynaldo Sabin. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Gabriel Toli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 59 minutes into the game, FLA MQ BRASIL's Luís Fabiano Freire nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zuri Megia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. In the 62nd minute Marcelo Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuri Megia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Márcio da Silva came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the FLA MQ BRASIL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio da Silva couldn't finish the play. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Reynaldo Sabin hit a great ball. A long shot from Jairo Formerio in the 69th minute of play was well struck, but Luiz Fabiano Mello made a really good save at the right post. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Zuri Megia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Ramalho in the 74th minute of play. When Bernardo Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FLA MQ BRASIL's protests and gave Bernardo Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th match minute, FLA MQ BRASIL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Rosado to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when FLA MQ BRASIL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Marcelo Ramalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. During the 89th minute of the match Marcelo Ramalho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcelo Ramalho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Marcelo Ramalho hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. FLA MQ BRASIL's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
