The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Matías Almeyda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penuel Football Club and the FLA MQ BRASIL players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fe Lizaur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Luiz Fabiano Mello came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Penuel Football Club's Macnelly Torres. But to his dismay, Macnelly Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jorge-Luis Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Luiz Fabiano Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fabiano Mello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge-Luis Borges's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Jorge-Luis Borges sped through FLA MQ BRASIL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fabiano Mello. Fe Lizaur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fabiano Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge-Luis Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute of the match Penuel Football Club got a corner. FLA MQ BRASIL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Matías Almeyda ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jairo Patiño made a great header on Penuel Football Club's corner, it was just that FLA MQ BRASIL's Luiz Fabiano Mello managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 30th minute Jorge-Luis Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Jorge-Luis Borges cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Luiz Fabiano Mello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Jairo Patiño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fabiano Mello was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by FLA MQ BRASIL's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Matías Almeyda was slow to take the kick. During this time Penuel Football Club's players had a chance to rest. Luiz Fabiano Mello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge-Luis Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute of the match Matías Almeyda sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Fabiano Mello skillfully saved the ball. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Luiz Fabiano Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Patiño in the 51st minute of the match. Jorge-Luis Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, FLA MQ BRASIL's Luiz Fabiano Mello got control of the ball when Jorge-Luis Borges tried to sneak it across the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, FLA MQ BRASIL's goal looked a bit too open when Macnelly Torres came free, but Luiz Fabiano Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Penuel Football Club's Piorno Bazarra was substituted for Goren Alva. Piorno Bazarra might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fabiano Mello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Piorno Bazarra ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge-Luis Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Mello having to interfere. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Jorge-Luis Borges sped through FLA MQ BRASIL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fabiano Mello. Jorge-Luis Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Jorge-Luis Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fabiano Mello was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Jorge-Luis Borges had several of the FLA MQ BRASIL's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 91 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Luiz Fabiano Mello as he didn't even see the shot coming. After having played for 94 minutes, Jorge-Luis Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penuel Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge-Luis Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Penuel Football Club's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
