The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicasio Patxi got free with Arsenio Maiorga in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luis Petri charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Petri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th match minute, LTA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Petri to maneuver through the defense. The LTA FC fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when LTA FC's Ivan Bernad looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bonifacio Aurre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Bernad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. LTA FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alfie Basile in the 17th minute. After taking down the ball on LTA FC's corner Alfie Basile fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bonifacio Aurre quite easily take care of the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Ivan Bernad notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Deportivo Iguazu's Bonifacio Aurre. Bonifacio Aurre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. LTA FC's Martin Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 27 minutes of play, LTA FC's Ivan Bernad made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bonifacio Aurre was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Ivan Bernad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bonifacio Aurre was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. David Esiquio kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Nicasio Patxi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Arsenio Maiorga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 43rd minute, Clodoveo Harri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martin Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bonifacio Aurre having to make a save. Bonifacio Aurre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Palermo in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
