Spectators: 7490 (Terracing: 5618, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kent Fredriksson got the match started through his kick off. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Erik Blomkvist in the 3rd minute of the match. When spikarna's Sven-Erik Blomkvist in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rangers FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 7th minute, Tommy Strömbom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fergus Fairbairn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Tim Charles fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Tim Charles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tim Charles to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Rangers FC's zone, Kjell Trulsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal and Kjell Trulsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, spikarna's Samuel Enström got control of the ball when Danny Gilespie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fergus Fairbairn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven-Erik Blomkvist went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by spikarna's Sven-Erik Blomkvist. But to his dismay, Sven-Erik Blomkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 25 minutes into the game, spikarna's Sven-Erik Blomkvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fergus Fairbairn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by spikarna's Kjell Trulsson. But to his dismay, Kjell Trulsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. When Stevie McGilvray fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Stevie McGilvray a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Stevie McGilvray. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Erik Blomkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danny Gilespie to make the kick off. Fergus Fairbairn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tommy Strömbom showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 51 minute of play. In the 54th minute, Kent Fredriksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Rangers FC defense, Tommy Strömbom kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. The Rangers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fergus Fairbairn should have stopped the shot. Fergus Fairbairn made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Kent Fredriksson sent off a good shot on target. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Fredriksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Strömbom was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 76th minute, Kent Fredriksson made a precise shot to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. When Stevie McGilvray came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Rangers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stevie McGilvray couldn't finish the play. Ronan McLaws hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Sven-Erik Blomkvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. spikarna's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 83rd minute Sven-Erik Blomkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Kjell Trulsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The spikarna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-10. Kent Fredriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Fergus Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Rangers FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. spikarna were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
