In the 4th minute of the match, Danny Gilespie got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sven-Edvin Britz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 16 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Ron McLeish. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Morris FC's Bernard Wicklein. But to his dismay, Bernard Wicklein quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Milko in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Friberger in the 29th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filip Milko kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Rangers FC's Tim Charles shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sven-Edvin Britz but with some difficulty. In the 34th match minute, Morris FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Friberger to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Morris FC's zone, Angus Howison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Edvin Britz came out of the goal and Angus Howison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Friberger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernard Wicklein in the 39th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Morris FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Lind. In the 42nd minute of the match Tim Charles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Edvin Britz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Charles Friberger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charles Friberger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 47th minute Filip Milko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danny Gilespie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Morris FC's Sven-Edvin Britz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Gilespie in the 51st minute of play. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Milko in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Bernard Wicklein cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Milko, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mats Back in the 64th minute of the match. Bernard Wicklein could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Fergus Fairbairn made a huge save. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gary Gowan hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Milko got free with Fergus Fairbairn in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles Friberger in the 73rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Charles Friberger got free with Fergus Fairbairn in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Friberger, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Fergus Fairbairn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernard Wicklein went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Gilespie in the 85th minute of play forced Morris FC's goalkeeper Sven-Edvin Britz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergus Fairbairn made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Charles Friberger sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Morris FC's Fergus Fairbairn threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mats Back, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Filip Milko hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Charles Friberger fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fergus Fairbairn, passed just outside the right post. Morris FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
