Mariano Caton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Mota in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Edi Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gustavo Souza hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 39 played minutes EDI MZB got a freekick which was hit by Caco Mota. EDI MZB were furious when Rubinho Costa was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 41 played minutes EDI MZB got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho Costa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavio Natal in the 41st minute of play forced EDI MZB's goalkeeper Luciano Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Tello AFC defense, Caco Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mariano Caton. The Tello AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariano Caton should have stopped the shot. After the first half EDI MZB were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Fabio Semeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Matos having to interfere. Luciano Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Semeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Justino Kismi came free, but Luciano Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Caton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Mota in the 72nd minute of play. Justino Kismi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Caco Mota recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mariano Caton. Caco Mota showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. The supporters of EDI MZB booed when Tello AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Ezkerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caco Mota in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mariano Caton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Octavio Natal fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tello AFC's protests and gave Octavio Natal a yellow card for diving instead. Octavio Natal hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Tello AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching EDI MZB's performance. The match ended with a win for EDI MZB.
