But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Váldson Urbano couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute Pedrão Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Gualter Cunha put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tales Siqueira. A collision led to SeleSantos FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Vivaldo Loureiro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Urbano in the 31st minute of play forced SeleSantos FC's goalkeeper Tales Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 minutes, Gualter Cunha made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. SeleSantos FC's Tales Siqueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tales Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Váldson Urbano in the 42nd minute of play. Tales Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Cunha in the 44th minute of the match. In the 48th minute SeleSantos FC were awarded a corner. Vânderson de Moraes went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led SeleSantos FC's Vânderson de Moraes to fire away a dangerous shot which Tião Simões despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gualter Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Falcão. After 55 minutes, Gualter Cunha made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. SeleSantos FC's Tales Siqueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. SeleSantos FC's Tales Siqueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save SeleSantos FC from getting a goal against them. Gualter Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tales Siqueira having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedrão Falcão during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When José Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SeleSantos FC's protests and gave José Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SeleSantos FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. José Fernandez hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the game, Gualter Cunha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Tales Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tião Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio do Vale in the 84th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™'s Pedro Luiz de Senna got a free kick in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio do Vale in the 92nd minute of play forced ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™'s goalkeeper Tião Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SeleSantos FC's Tales Siqueira got control of the ball when Gualter Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, SeleSantos FC's Vânderson de Moraes got a free kick in the 96th minute. If Váldson Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
