Itajaí Football Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Venancio Harriet scored to the left of an out of position Christiano Cearense, making the score, 2-4. Venancio Harriet received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Christiano Cearense came out and tried to block the shot, but Venancio Harriet slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 77th minute. Santo Cayo came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Itajaí Football Club's Luís Fabiano Corrêa. But to his dismay, Luís Fabiano Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-5. Santo Cayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Corrêa notched a goal, 4-5, to the right of Club de la Serpiente's Santo Cayo. Santo Cayo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Clemente Shantala kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christiano Cearense. That made the score 4-6 in the 92 minute of play. The Club de la Serpiente players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
