The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnout Lembeck got free with Manuel Boroș in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the match, Leonard Duțulescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Kamps. Springplank FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonard Duțulescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Manuel Boroș was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Holder Behnert capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Holder Behnert really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Manuel Boroș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jari Litmanen, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute Jari Litmanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Boroș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's Arnout Lembeck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Boroș narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aristide Chifu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Boroș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnout Lembeck in the 52nd minute of the match. FC ANC's Manuel Boroș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathieu Schophuis in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathieu Schophuis in the 59th minute of play forced FC ANC's goalkeeper Manuel Boroș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Arnout Lembeck sped through FC ANC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manuel Boroș. If Holder Behnert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Lembeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Jari Litmanen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathieu Schophuis in the 74th minute of play forced FC ANC's goalkeeper Manuel Boroș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC ANC's zone, Holder Behnert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Boroș came out of the goal and Holder Behnert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
