After a defensive mix-up in Lions United's zone, Holder Behnert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Izak Capellemans came out of the goal and Holder Behnert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdi Reis in the 27th minute of play forced Lions United's goalkeeper Izak Capellemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Izak Capellemans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdi Reis's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's goalkeeper Jim Kamps had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carl Vinckx. The Springplank FC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Springplank FC's Kevin Booy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 41 minutes into the match, Kevin Booy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Izak Capellemans. Lions United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kevin Booy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Jim Kamps made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathieu-Maxim Toussain in the 45th minute of play. Holder Behnert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Izak Capellemans having to interfere. After the first half Springplank FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carl Vinckx to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ferdi Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Holder Behnert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Springplank FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Holder Behnert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Izak Capellemans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's Ferdi Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Izak Capellemans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Springplank FC were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Lions United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niels-Jan Drok took the corner. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Carl Vinckx sped through Springplank FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jim Kamps. With a little luck, Lions United's Izak Capellemans got control of the ball when Arnout Lembeck tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Springplank FC's Ferdi Reis got a free kick in the 66th minute. Rudi Boegaert kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Ferdi Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Izak Capellemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niels-Jan Drok shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Mathieu-Maxim Toussain fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lions United's protests and gave Mathieu-Maxim Toussain a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 played minutes Lions United got a freekick which was hit by Mathieu-Maxim Toussain. Dany-Adams Gijselinckx kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 89th minute Holder Behnert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Izak Capellemans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Springplank FC defense, Carl Vinckx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jim Kamps. The Springplank FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jim Kamps should have stopped the shot. Jim Kamps took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunter Van Bets, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Springplank FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
