Paul-Louis Van Caubergen hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carl Vinckx in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Kamps saved Springplank FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Casper Ottens in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorn Preuveneer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Casper Ottens put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jorn Preuveneer. A collision led to Lions United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gillis Heirremans hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Lions United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gillis Heirremans to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lions United booed when Springplank FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Murphy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lions United's goalkeeper Jorn Preuveneer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sunday Oliseh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Jorn Preuveneer made a huge save. In the 31st minute Carl Vinckx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Kamps saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 33 minutes, Ferdi Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Springplank FC and the Lions United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Springplank FC got a freekick which was hit by Ferdi Reis. The audience was convinced that Mathieu-Maxim Toussain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Kamps was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carl Vinckx stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, Dries Coremans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lions United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Springplank FC the free kick. A collision led to Lions United getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Dries Coremans hit a great ball. When Ferdi Reis came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Springplank FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdi Reis couldn't finish the play. Gillis Heirremans charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gillis Heirremans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Springplank FC's Kevin Booy got a free kick in the 57th minute. 58 minutes in the game, Carl Vinckx dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Jorn Preuveneer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casper Ottens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 played minutes Springplank FC got a freekick which was hit by Casper Ottens. After having played for 67 minutes, Mathieu-Maxim Toussain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathieu-Maxim Toussain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kevin Booy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jim Kamps made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathieu-Maxim Toussain in the 75th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carl Vinckx in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Kamps saved Springplank FC from getting behind. Kevin Booy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jorn Preuveneer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot by Rudy Smolders from long distance, 79 minutes into the match, got Jim Kamps's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 80th minute, Dries Coremans reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jim Kamps. The goal made the score 1-1. Jorn Preuveneer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harm Korsma in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Harm Korsma was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Springplank FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lions United the free kick. In the 88th minute, Harm Korsma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 89 played minutes Lions United got a freekick which was hit by Rudi Boegaert. Jorn Preuveneer came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Springplank FC's Eddie Murphy. But to his dismay, Eddie Murphy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Springplank FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lions United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
