The audience thought a goal was coming when Viggo Carlsson got free with Dewa Cinta in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonardo Belém made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Manuel Candeias however managed to control. The Reds's Bernt Nässén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Cavaco in the 61st minute of play. In the 65th minute Jonny Emander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dewa Cinta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernt Nässén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dewa Cinta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Emander in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FCPorto's Sebastião Queiroga got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Viggo Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dewa Cinta having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. The Reds walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
