Emil Şandru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cachiyuyo EAS. Cachiyuyo EAS's Arnulfo Nataniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Panțuru in the 14th minute of play. Sergio Derwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Emil Şandru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emil Şandru was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Honorio Telesforo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Honorio Telesforo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 27 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Alex Bucuță. A collision led to Progresul Pitesti getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ilie Bran hit a great ball. Arnulfo Nataniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Manafu in the 36th minute of the match. Patricio Martxelin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cachiyuyo EAS's Honorio Telesforo got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucian Panțuru was the one to do the kick off. When Sergio Derwin came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Cachiyuyo EAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Derwin couldn't finish the play. Honorio Telesforo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Emil Şandru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Progresul Pitesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cachiyuyo EAS the free kick.
