Wellington Baiano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicasio Vargas went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Nicasio Vargas hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Papato Tatengue's Domingo Johans got control of the ball when Sílvio Cordeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ekzema F.V.'s Wellington Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Vargas in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Papato Tatengue booed when Ekzema F.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicasio Vargas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wellington Baiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Ekzema F.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ekzema F.V.'s zone, Carlos Saúl Menem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wellington Baiano came out of the goal and Carlos Saúl Menem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicasio Vargas made a kick off. Wellington Baiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicasio Vargas in the 52nd minute. Nicasio Vargas might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wellington Baiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicasio Vargas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ekzema F.V.'s goalkeeper Wellington Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Papato Tatengue's Nicasio Vargas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wellington Baiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Papato Tatengue's Cristián Belgrano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wellington Baiano. That made the score 0-3 after 61 minutes of play. Wellington Baiano had great luck who in the 64thth minute grab hold of the ball when Nicasio Vargas from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Domingo Johans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 73rd play minutes Nicasio Vargas shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Wellington Baiano and just under the crossbar into goal. 77 minutes into the match, Ekzema F.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Nicasio Vargas came free, but Wellington Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wellington Baiano was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Nicasio Vargas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicasio Vargas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. If Nicasio Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicasio Vargas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wellington Baiano. That made the score 0-6 in the 87 minute of play. A collision led to Ekzema F.V. getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Maicon Linhares hit a great ball. Nicasio Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Grant Verga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Papato Tatengue fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Grant Verga took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Wellington Baiano to make any attempt to save it.
