Spectators: 7623 (Terracing: 5718, Seating: 1753, VIP seats: 152) Carlos Luna made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 5th minute of the game Carlos Alberto Faria made a throw-in which Alfredo Diniz played forward. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Galo do Cerrado! Cássio Matorin took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Carvalhais. João Carvalhais dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Carlos Luna might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredinho Andrade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Luna ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's goalkeeper Alfredinho Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Luna. João Carvalhais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Carlos Luna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredinho Andrade was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. With a little luck, Galo do Cerrado's Alfredinho Andrade got control of the ball when Carlos Luna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute, Tony Påk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If José Ventura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Cássio Matorin made the kick off in the second half. Galo do Cerrado's Alfredinho Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Luna in the 52nd minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Carlos Luna made a precise shot to the right of Alfredinho Andrade. Galo do Cerrado's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Carlos Luna hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Matorin came free, but João Carvalhais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Edson Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Luna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's Cássio Matorin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Carvalhais narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Calisto. José Ventura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Carlos Luna notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Galo do Cerrado's Alfredinho Andrade. Alfredinho Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Carlos Luna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfredinho Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Luna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the game, Carlos Luna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Alfredinho Andrade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Gremio Viana players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
