The Matungo Gaúcho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Ferraz should have stopped the shot. After having played for 17 minutes, Gerjan Staarman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Wissenkerke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerjan Staarman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Miguel de Andrade got a free kick in the 21st minute. Gerjan Staarman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Paulo Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Jean-Paul Schuiling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes, Jean-Paul Schuiling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SV Wissenkerke and the Matungo Gaúcho players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jean-Paul Schuiling hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. SV Wissenkerke's Koen Vrede got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 37th minute of the match. Ralph Cramer's late challenge caught a Matungo Gaúcho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Paulo Ferraz came out of the goal and Gerjan Staarman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute, Koen Vrede hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matungo Gaúcho's Paulo Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 58th minute of play. Paulo Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 60th minute of the match. Matungo Gaúcho's Paulo Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 61st minute of play. Paulo Ferraz came out of the goal and Mariano Bombarda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Fernando Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Paulo Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Jean-Paul Schuiling sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koen Vrede, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matungo Gaúcho's Carlos Fernando Schmidt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mariano Bombarda, made in the 89th minute of the game. The supporters of Matungo Gaúcho booed when SV Wissenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Paul Schuiling didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SV Wissenkerke walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
