Santiago Demario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chamaicó's David Tajo got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteve Abeita in the 42nd minute of play forced Argentinos Juniors's goalkeeper Santiago Demario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Argentinos Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chamaicó the free kick. A collision led to Argentinos Juniors getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Timoteo Gonzo hit a great ball. With a little luck, Argentinos Juniors's Santiago Demario got control of the ball when Esteve Abeita tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Esteve Abeita came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Chamaicó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteve Abeita couldn't finish the play. If Esteve Abeita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Santiago Demario managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Chamaicó's Esteve Abeita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Santiago Demario made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Esteve Abeita sent off a good shot on target.
