After some careless play in the Nautilus defense, Claudinei Brito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil de Medeiros. The Nautilus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil de Medeiros was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After 16 minutes, Claudinei Brito made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Raphael Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minotauro's supporters rose to their feet, but Raphael Tepedino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the game, Minotauro's Claudinei Brito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gil de Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Gil de Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinei Brito's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Minotauro's Tiaguinho Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Claudinei Brito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gil de Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Léo Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 42 minutes, Tiaguinho Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minotauro and the Nautilus players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Nautilus booed when Minotauro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gil de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léo Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Richard Ferreira made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinei Brito got free with Gil de Medeiros in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Nautilus's zone, Claudinei Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil de Medeiros came out of the goal and Claudinei Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute Marcelinho de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th match minute, Nautilus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Meireles to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute of the match Raphael Tepedino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gil de Medeiros showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laerte Tasso during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Laerte Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Gil de Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Claudinei Brito sent off a good shot on target. Minotauro's Tiaguinho Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Raphael Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Claudinei Brito dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gil de Medeiros, 0-7. In the 87th play minute Claudinei Brito came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gil de Medeiros. 0-8. Léo Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gil de Medeiros having to make a save. Minotauro's Léo Cardozo got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Claudinei Brito could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Gil de Medeiros however easily saved by the left post. Minotauro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
