Wilfredo Quinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Johans Ortubia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aureliano Obeko was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Pagomari Portilla capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pagomari Portilla really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Jeremias Cisco hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Johans Ortubia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Florinio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th match minute, Monitor Huáscar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pagomari Portilla to maneuver through the defense. Monitor Huáscar's Johans Ortubia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Florinio in the 30th minute of play. Martin Asier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johans Ortubia having to interfere. With a little luck, Leones FC's Aureliano Obeko got control of the ball when Oxel Viñales tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johans Ortubia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Asier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johans Ortubia came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Leones FC's Nicanor Florinio. But to his dismay, Nicanor Florinio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nicanor Florinio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Johans Ortubia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Monitor Huáscar's zone, Wilfredo Quinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johans Ortubia came out of the goal and Wilfredo Quinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute, Martin Asier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leones FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Quinto made a kick off. Jeremias Cisco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johans Ortubia having to interfere. Monitor Huáscar's Johans Ortubia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Florinio in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Leones FC's Wilfredo Quinto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Turi Larrategui replaced Steven Fortis. Monitor Huáscar's Humberto Sagasti was substituted for Ovidio Varez. Monitor Huáscar's Johans Ortubia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Quinto in the 63rd minute of play. The Leones FC fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Leones FC's Wilfredo Quinto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Martin Asier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Leones FC's Martin Asier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Johans Ortubia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Cisco, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilfredo Quinto got free with Johans Ortubia in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 86 minutes into the game, Humberto Sagasti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monitor Huáscar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leones FC the free kick. A collision led to Monitor Huáscar getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Humberto Sagasti hit a great ball. Oxel Viñales kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. A hard shot by Dante Mannie from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Johans Ortubia's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience was convinced that Oxel Viñales's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Obeko was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The supporters of Monitor Huáscar booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Bizi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aureliano Obeko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oxel Viñales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leones FC played a much better game than Monitor Huáscar and deserved their victory. The Monitor Huáscar players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
