After 2 played minutes Pomona AFC got a freekick which was hit by Berdaitz Polentinos. With his leg Matthew Jastrzembowski managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Pomona AFC's Arturo Sugar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 7th minute, Friedel Wahlberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauricio Domeka was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Christian Bale hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Mauricio Domeka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kilian Gutrath in the 11th minute of play. Hamburg Fighters were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Pomona AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kilian Gutrath took the corner. Pomona AFC's Mauricio Domeka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friedel Wahlberg in the 13th minute of play. Matthew Jastrzembowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arturo Sugar in the 14th minute. When Roberto Leguizamón fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pomona AFC's protests and gave Roberto Leguizamón a yellow card for diving instead. Roberto Leguizamón kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Uri Eckardt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Uri Eckardt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauricio Domeka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. When Arturo Sugar fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pomona AFC's protests and gave Arturo Sugar a yellow card for diving instead. Arturo Sugar kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of Hamburg Fighters booed when Pomona AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Bale didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uri Eckardt in the 34th minute of play forced Pomona AFC's goalkeeper Mauricio Domeka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Osoitz kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Segundo Franco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pomona AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hamburg Fighters the free kick. Uri Eckardt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Hamburg Fighters got a freekick which was hit by Alphonso Davies. Matthew Jastrzembowski made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Amado Oier sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Hamburg Fighters were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Sugar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Matthew Jastrzembowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Matthew Jastrzembowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Pacorro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pomona AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amado Oier in the 60th minute. A nice corner shot did that Amado Oier got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Matthew Jastrzembowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Sugar in the 66th minute of play forced Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Matthew Jastrzembowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Hamburg Fighters's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Sugar came free, but Matthew Jastrzembowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pomona AFC's zone, Kilian Gutrath stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauricio Domeka came out of the goal and Kilian Gutrath tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matthew Jastrzembowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Pacorro, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Arturo Sugar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. A collision led to Pomona AFC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Arturo Sugar hit a great ball. Mauricio Domeka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luka Reich in the 83rd minute of play. If Lüder Ganz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Hamburg Fighters could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pomona AFC throughout the match.
