An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Pacorro in the 35th minute of play forced La Zabaleta's goalkeeper Eske Aksel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute Arturo Sugar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eske Aksel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Gilabert hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Pomona AFC's Guillermo Oinaz got a free kick in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arturo Sugar was the one to do the kick off. In the 84th match minute, La Zabaleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Lastur to maneuver through the defense. The Pomona AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
