With a little luck, Mercado Paulista F.C's Diego Vargas got control of the ball when Kilian Gutrath tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute Kilian Gutrath shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luka Reich received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Diego Vargas came out and tried to block the shot, but Luka Reich slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute, Kilian Gutrath left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hamburg Fighters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Hamburg Fighters's Leroy Sane slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diego Vargas. That made the score 3-0 after 19 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Friedel Wahlberg in the 22nd minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Diego Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ramon Tancredo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matthew Jastrzembowski. Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Diego Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luka Reich in the 81st minute of the match. Baldomero Hernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Matthew Jastrzembowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
