Ramon Tancredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauricio Domeka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ramon Tancredo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8th minute Baldomero Hernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Domeka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 played minutes Pomona AFC got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Sugar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remigio Paublo during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mercado Paulista F.C fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Pomona AFC. Amado Oier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Diego Vargas. 0-1. Mauricio Domeka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Hernandez in the 21st minute of play. After 24 played minutes Pomona AFC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Leguizamón. Berdaitz Polentinos came free in the 31st minute and tried to tip the ball over Diego Vargas, but to the joy of Mercado Paulista F.C's supporters the ball went over. After having played for 38 minutes, Guillermo Oinaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pomona AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Oinaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Guillermo Oinaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillermo Oinaz to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Baldomero Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercado Paulista F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Baldomero Hernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauricio Domeka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pomona AFC's Mauricio Domeka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Tancredo in the 58th minute of play. Diego Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amado Oier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Hernandez in the 63rd minute of play forced Pomona AFC's goalkeeper Mauricio Domeka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mercado Paulista F.C's Sergio Burni got a free kick in the 68th minute. Bishen Top hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
