After a rather tough play, Gnesta Oilers's Birger Skoglund got a free kick in the 2nd minute. When Richy Wiggers came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the FC Bruges fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richy Wiggers couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Henderickx in the 9th minute of play forced Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Holger Vennerlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richy Wiggers came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Holger Vennerlund could save by the left post. In the 11th match minute, Gnesta Oilers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Birger Skoglund to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Gnesta Oilers's Holger Vennerlund got control of the ball when Richy Wiggers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lars Hammarberg hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Lars Hammarberg took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Van Der Weghen. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per-Åke Lundgren in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Van Der Weghen saved FC Bruges from getting behind. Kasper Vallman kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richy Wiggers got free with Holger Vennerlund in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tony Van Der Weghen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Åke Lundgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Kasper Vallman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Bruges's Tony Van Der Weghen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Kasper Vallman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Gnesta Oilers's Holger Vennerlund got control of the ball when Richy Wiggers tried to sneak it across the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Lars Hammarberg notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Bruges's Tony Van Der Weghen. Tony Van Der Weghen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Gnesta Oilers fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Gnesta Oilers's Kasper Vallman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

The wind increased when Richy Wiggers made the kick off in the second half. Tony Van Der Weghen came out of the goal and Kasper Vallman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute Lars Hammarberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Van Der Weghen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Hammarberg hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 0-4 became the score in the 66th minute when Per-Åke Lundgren elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Per-Åke Lundgren put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Tony Van Der Weghen. Kasper Vallman succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 74th playminute. Kasper Vallman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Tony Van Der Weghen made a huge save. Tony Van Der Weghen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Åke Lundgren in the 80th minute of play. Gnesta Oilers's Holger Vennerlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richy Wiggers in the 82nd minute of play. Tony Van Der Weghen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Per-Åke Lundgren's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Holger Vennerlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Henderickx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Gnesta Oilers players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
