The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Åke Gustafsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Åke Gustafsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Mascareñas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Checa Cerezo charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Checa Cerezo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Liga de Quito's Checa Cerezo got a free kick in the 16th minute. With his leg Tomas Pando managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Ghost Hunters's Bo Kleen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tomas Pando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bo Kleen in the 24th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eduardo Mascareñas to strike the kick off in the second half. Nestor Ibaute sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Liga de Quito's Urrutia Tacon got a free kick in the 62nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bo Kleen in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Pando saved Liga de Quito from getting behind. When Adam Svanér fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ghost Hunters's protests and gave Adam Svanér a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Adam Svanér hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nestor Ibaute could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Åke Gustafsson made a huge save. Rune Brovall kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Ghost Hunters's Åke Gustafsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Ghost Hunters from getting a goal against them. After having played for 78 minutes, Eduardo Mascareñas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liga de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Mascareñas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Åke Gustafsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Cruz Guia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liga de Quito's supporters rose to their feet, but Cruz Guia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Åke Gustafsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Åke Gustafsson made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Urbano Pacio sent off a good shot on target. Åke Gustafsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Ibaute in the 96th minute.
